Jacksonburg’s church was established in 1843 as a Methodist Protestant church known as “The Union Church of Jacksonburg.” In 1924, former Ohio Governor James M. Cox, a member of the church helped draw the plans for the current sanctuary. He proposed that it be build after a gothic church he saw in England. In 1947 the congregation became Jacksonburg Evangelical United Brethren Church. The education wing was added to the structure in 1964. The carillon system was donated by Governor Cox and dedicated in 1956. It was replaced by a digital system in 2001 which is still in operation.

What We Believe

We are part of the United Methodist Church. Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Local churches and extension ministries of the Church provide the most significant arenas through which disciple-making occurs.

The United Methodist Church shares a great deal with other denominations. Explore what we believe about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the Bible, and more. Click here for more information on the United Methodist Church.
